After discussing options with the homeowner, we determined that an Amarr Carriage Court steel door with a wood composite overlay was the best choice. This door closely resembled the aesthetic of a real wood door while offering superior durability.
Key details of the installation included:
✅ New Door Installed: Amarr Carriage Court in white with a Bradberry panel design and six light arch windows.
✅ Material Upgrade: Instead of full wood, the homeowner opted for a steel-based door with a composite overlay, which resists warping, splitting, and water damage.
✅ Reduced Maintenance: The new door features a lifetime paint warranty, eliminating the need for frequent repainting.
✅ Enhanced Functionality: A LiftMaster 87504 opener was installed for smooth and reliable operation.
✅ Consistency in Design: While the homeowner kept two other wood doors, this door maintained the overall look while providing modern benefits.
By switching to a steel-based composite overlay door, the homeowner achieved the best of both worlds: a beautiful, classic carriage-style garage door without the upkeep and structural concerns of traditional wood. This upgrade ensures long-term durability, easier maintenance, and improved daily functionality.
